I think in my industry, wedding.com or wedding.co.uk would be great domains to have. There are also other generic domains like pizza.com that I wish I'd registered in the early days of the www. By this I mean a word like 'cars' rather than a brand name like 'BMW'. This is because having a generic domain name means that you can effectively 'own' that industry. And since having a keyword in your domain name helps to boost you up the Search Engine Results page, it makes it even more important to grab somthing generic. So if I could have any domain name, due to my industry I wish I had bought 'advertising.com' or 'search.com'. Looking at other industries, I reckon 'domainnames.com' would have been a good one to grab! For me generic words as domain names are the most important to have.
